There is no need to be worried, if the following criteria interlock:
if the participants’ values, objectives and strategies match,
- if the families involved, their values, goals and strategies are in harmony,
- if members of the owner-families, who take an active part in the enterprise, work with rather than against each other,
- if the employees live up to the values of the family enterprise and its owners,
- if the company’s financial strategy is in harmony with the owner-families and their members,
…then the families and their enterprise will have a cross-fertilising and positive effect.
If on the other hand they do not act in concert, but rather pull into different directions, the enterprise as well as their families risk to be torn apart.
